BlackBerry Messenger will be available for iOS and Android

I read that BBM will soon be available for iOS and Android devices.

It's a bit late, don't ya think...?

I agree with their reasoning. If they did it any earlier there would be no appeal for the Blackberry phone. They still run that risk however it is much lower of a risk.

Still seems like a bad idea IMO.

there goes BB's final chance of making it with their phones. If their's no BBM exclusivity, I don't see why people would buy the BB anymore.

It's open, so there's no exclusivity there but BBM is different case. Most people who go for a BB do so because of BBM so having BBM on some other better platform would just give them an excuse to switch without having to sacrifice on bbm.
